Welcome to the official Fallen Timbers Republican Club website.

"The Government is us. We are the Government, you and I." - Teddy Roosevelt

More noteworthy things can be accomplished working together than as individuals. We need to pull together for better governance in our villages, townships, county and state. Accomplish something worthwhile in advancing conservative ideals that benefit our families and communities. "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." -- Plato

Abe Lincoln knew very well what
we must do.

"Organize the whole state, so that every Whig can be brought to the polls...

...Divide (the) country into small districts, and... appoint in each a subcommittee.

...Make a perfect list of all the voters and... ascertain with certainty for whom they will vote.

...Keep a constant watch on doubtful voters, and... have them talked to by
those in whom they have the most confidence.

...And on Election Day, see that every Whig is brought to the polls.

Our "small district" is defined by the boundaries of the Waterville, Monclova, Providence Wards and as June 1, 2006 Swanton Ward. We the people, the electorate, are the most important elements in a representative democracy. We believe our friends and neighbors, our kin and acquaintances must take a more active stand in government to form a more perfect Union.

The concept of Government of the people, by the people, and for the people is the foundation upon which we built this great nation. Our council members, commissioners, mayors, senators and other representatives are not intended to be our government. They are our representatives, which makes them agents of the public. It is the collective congregation of our citizens that Madison, Franklin and Jefferson among others held to be government.

Freedom and Liberty come at a cost. Voter turnout is not enough, what with the margin being 30 to 60 percent actually going to the polls. These "small district subcommittees" Lincoln spoke about are the watchdogs of our independence and inalienable rights. Together we can influence the matters of state for the positive benefit of society starting right here in our own backyard.

Please consider how important your participation beyond poking your finger at a touch screen on Election Day is to your community. When voters defeat a proposal to build a public structure at the polls and the legislative body turns around to let contract agreements to erect the same, you as the government have lost control.

Teddy Roosevelt exclaimed, "The government is us; we are the government, you and I." There is a catch of course. You need to be involved.

Join us to study and discuss today's issues and help implement the proper and rightful governance of our district, state and nation.

How We Help Candidates

We take a bold new approach to what a Republican Club is all about. More noteworthy things can be accomplished working together than as individuals. It's about pooling our talents and resources to provide tangible tools that make for successful campaigns and help ease the burdens of running for office.

The club is well on our way to raising funds to purchase a computerized auto phone dialer to deliver prerecorded messages for our candidate members. This will help soliciting sign locations, invitations and reminders of fund raising events, and get out the vote messages.

A database of yard sign and mini-billboard locations in our area is being constructed and our members will assist candidates placing their signs during the campaign and on Election Day at the polling places.

We have and will continue to encourage our FTRC membership to give assistance to candidates on our roster in the form of volunteerism whether it's marching in festival parades, dropping literature, knocking on doors or greeting voters at polling places.

The club provides a forum for candidates to address the membership and motivate them for mobilization in campaigns in our Wards, Districts and County.

In the near future it will be our goal to finance and build a parade float for use by candidates complete with sound system and deck it out in patriotic and GOP motif making it stand out in festivals and parades.

The club also has the intention of acquiring mail house equipment to prepare and bulk rate post large candidate mailings.

We also plan to create a strategy and statistical analysis unit to apply scientific methods to help formula better campaign tactics for candidates who are also members of our organization.

We are totally nonprofit and we are not a Political Action Committee. So, we cannot contribute financially or in-kind to candidates. But, we'll be able to offer various services through individuals who also tend to be members of a group of like minded Republicans.

I am a Republican Because ...

I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least.

I believe the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

I believe Americans must retain the principals that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

Finally, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Republicans put our faith in people, not Big Government
